Target Deals

Go on over to www.hip2save.com and click on Target on the righthand side of her blog. I took advantage of the Del Monte Vegetable deal and the I Can't Believe it's not Butter deal this week. Our Target has the butter for $1.87 on sale so with the coupons she has listed I got it for $.12 a tub!! Vegetables for $.20 if you have the Manufacturers coupon, but even if you don't you can get 6 for$1.70 with the Target coupon. That's 28 cents a can!!! Stock up for food storage or send it to your kids' schools for food drives. She also has a scenario to get Ritz crackers for $.50 a box!!

Target has a new coupon system. You can now only print 2 Target coupons from your computer. No printing at the Kiosk in the store anymore. People with Windows 7 are having difficulty downloading the program you need to print them. I hear if you download Firefox browser you will be able to download and print.

Ordering Multiple Newspapers

I think I FINALLY might have multiple papers delivered to my door on Sundays. LA times called me to see if I would give them another chance (my delivery person was not delivering half the time). I told them if I could get 4 papers on Sundays then I would. The man told me I needed to get my paper the first week and then call and order the other 3 that I want. Why 3? Because when items go on sale then you will have more coupons and you can stock up at rock bottom prices.
I called this morning and told circulation what I wanted and they put me through to "specialty ordering." She added 3 papers to my Sunday delivery. I am nervous, we will see what happens. If my delivery person was having difficulty delivering 1 I bet 4 will completely confuse them. I will let you know how it works out.
The LA times was $39.00 a year making it $.75 a week. This is a great deal because you pay $1.50 at the newstand. I was paying $24.00 a month just on the times going to the newsstand. It was still worth it because I am saving a bundle the way I shop, but by ordering multiples to my door I will cut that in half. So yes, upfront I will pay $156.00 for the year, but in cutting my "paper bill" in half and saving what I do every time I go shopping it will be well worth it.
Why the LA times instead of the Press? There are always a few more high value coupons in LA than the Press. Yes, the coupon booklets look the same, but there are differences. A good example is the Welch's $1.50 off coupon in the Times. It was not in the Press this week. The bummer about the Times is that you do not receive most of the ads such as Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Walgreens, etc. So if you want to price match you have to go to the store and grab their ad for the week. They also do not carry Michael's and Joanns coupons.

One of the gals mentioned to me today that both of our Targets are out of Monsters Inc. This is not terrible news though because you still can get a great deal on Up without Price matching. Make sure it is still ringing up at $19.99 and use your $10.00 off coupons for $9.99. Then you can check out the 3 rebates for buying other products and sending them in with your Up receipt here. Just depends on how much work you want to do. If you do the 2 $5 ones you will score UP for FREE!! The Kernel's popcorn seasoning and Ronzoni pasta often have good coupons so keep your eyes out for those and a sale to price match them with!!
Yet another great post from www.hip2save.blogspot.com

Alright, here's a quick update to the Target price match deal scenario I posted below. There have been quite a lot of questions regarding being able to use a Target coupon on a price match item. Well, according to reader, Nicole , this can be done. She emailed Target corporate directly about this issue and this was their reply back:

********************************************
Thanks for taking the time to ask us about using coupons with the Low Price Promise.

We do accept the manufacturer and Target coupon to be used with the Low Price Promise Ad Match for a further price reduction. The coupon would need to be presented at time of check out at the register/POS and not given at the Guest Service counter.

We look forward to showing you what's new at Target.
*********************************************

She also converted the email above it to a PDF file here. I would suggest printing this off and bringing it with you every time you shop at Target. This should come in hand if you have issues price matching and using a Target and/or manufacturer coupon.
Thanks to www.hip2save.blogspot.com for all the matching deals I have posted lately. I just copied and pasted and forgot to give her the credit. We appreciate all she does for everyone.

Price Match Up and Monsters Inc at Target

Another price matching deal. Must have full Best Buy ad to do this.

Deal Scenario:

UP Blu-Ray Combo Pack $26.99 & Monsters Inc Blu-Ray $26.99
Price Match the above movies with the Best Buy weekly ad which is-
Up Blu-Ray Combo pack $23.99 & Monsters Inc. Blu-Ray $18.99
Total for both=$42.98
Use the $10/2 Target coupon
Plus, use the $8/1 Monsters Inc coupon: IE or Firefox
And also use the $10/1 UP coupon from here
Final cost for each Blu-Ray combo pack--just $7.49!

THIS JUST IN: AN EVEN MORE EXCITING NOTE ABOUT THIS DEAL. I WENT AND DID THE DEAL AT OUR CLINTON KEITH STORE. THEY HAD AN "EXCLUSIVE TO TARGET" COMBO PACK PRICED AT $26.99, WHEN THE GUY RANG IT UP IT CAME UP AS ON SALE FOR $19.99 SO I DID NOT HAVE TO PRICE MATCH THE BEST BUY PRICE OF $23.99 AND I PAID $5.00 LESS THAN THIS DEAL!! I STILL HAD TO PRICE MATCH THE MONSTERS INC COMBO PACK. MY TOTAL WITH TAX CAME TO $13.52 FOR BOTH. I THINK MY SUBTOTAL WAS $10.98. SOMETIMES THE LOWEST PRICE IS ONLY ON THE DAY THE DVD COMES OUT, BUT IT'S WORTH CHECKING AT THIS STORE. AS OF TONIGHT THEY HAD 63 COMBO PACKS OF UP LEFT.

Something else worth mentioning is that the guy at the Electronics Register just did the price match for me back there. I did not have to pay and then go to Customer Service to get my money refunded for the difference. It's always worth asking your cashier if they can just do it for you or just go to Customer Service to do the entire transaction with one person so nothing gets confused.

Board Games at Target for around $5.00

Did this price match deal at Clinton Keith Target today. I went straight to the customer service counter and she matched the prices without making me pay for it first. They usually have you go through the line and pay for it and bring your receipt over to Customer Service and then you use your coupons and get your refund there. I think this is a very silly way to do it so I just waited at Customer Service first.

Halloween M and M's at Sam's Club

In the candy aisle at Sam's Club there are 56 oz bags of M and M's. They are normally $8-$9. The Halloween ones are marked down to $3.91 and there are a TON of them.

Campbells soup at Wal-Mart

Campbells Cream of Chicken and Cream of Mushroom soups are $.58 each at Wal-Mart this week. It's been a long time since I have found them that low, especially this brand!! Match that up with the printables that were available a few weeks ago. My husband was not able to print anymore for me today so they might be gone, but it's worth a try. I matched up my $.25/3 coupons that I got in the paper a few weeks ago. Only saved 8 cents on each, but a pennies a penny right? They are fully stocked and I would guess that this might be the best sale of the year on these in California.

Target Deals worth mentioning

At our new Clinton Keith Super Target select Duncan Hines cake mixes are $.97 each. If you print the target coupon here the mixes will be $.47 each!! For a sweeter deal I had $.55/2 Duncan Hines item so i was able to get them for $.20. I don't know which paper those were in though I apologize! You can print as many as you want of the Target coupons. If you do not have a Laser Jet printer they will not scan at the register and the cashier will have to manually input them all. I print mine at the Kiosk in customer service. You just go to the Target.com link, grocery coupons and print from there. I had to have someone help me the first time and the computers are very slow there, but at least they scan through and save time at the register.

They have their Halloween items marked at 50% right now. I was able to pick up a bag of Snyder's of Hanover pretzels for $2.50. They are in a bag that looks like a Jack o Lantern and are marked $4.99. When I took them up to the register they rang up $3.99 and I asked the girl if they were supposed to be 50% of and she said she was going to make them $2.50. There are 30 snack bags in it.

For more great Target deals go here.

Walgreens this week

Dove at Walgreens

Many of you are still asking "HOW DID YOU DO THAT!!??" So I thought this would be a perfect illustration. This is a great deal at Walgreens. And, for those of you who laugh at me for buying 4 papers, you won't be laughing anymore after this :)

This week at Walgreens Dove Shampoo and Conditioner 12 oz bottles are $4.99 and it is Buy one, Get one Free. So they are $2.49 each. Better than even the Wal-Mart price, but then add your coupons to that. I had 4 $1 off Shampoo, 2 $1 off any Dove Hair Care product and 2 $1.50 off Conditioner. Walgreens is also running a Catalina deal through Friday: $2 RR wyb (4), $6 RR wyb (6) or $10 RR wyb (8) Dove Products. Combine that with 2 $8 Register Rewards I had from last week and throw in the Halls Refresh for $1, Chapstick for $2.99, toothpaste $2.99 and a filler item to cover one of the Register Rewards from beeping (remember you can only have one manufacturer coupon per item, your Register Reward is a manufacturer's coupon so you must have a "filler" item for the Register Reward. It doesn't matter how much the item is and does not have to be the amount your register reward is for, it just has to fill that spot so the register doesn't beep telling the cashier you have too many coupons.) The reason I chose the Halls, Chapstick and toothpaste are because I had $16 worth of Register Rewards to spend and I had coupons for every item except the chapstick. These items all gave me Register Rewards back. So I spent $.73 out of my pocket and got back $10, $3, $1, and $1 in Register Rewards. My tax was $2.38 which is the big difference than some of the other bloggers we see. CA tax is so HIGH!!

So here is the breakdown:

4 Dove Shampoo $9.98
4 Dove Conditioner $9.98
Chapstick Fresh Effects $2.99
Colgate Toothpaste $2.99
Halls Refresh $1.00
Halloween bag (filler item) $.29
Total: $27.23

I used: (2) $8.00 RR from last week
(4) $1.00 off Dove Shampoo
(2) $1.00 off Dove Product
(2) $1.50 off Conditioner
(1) $.75 off Colgate
(1) $.75 off Halls

Total: $.73 + $2.38 tax = $3.11

Register Rewards back: (1) $10.00 from Dove
(1) $3.00 from Chapstick
(1) $1.00 from Colgate
(1) $1.00 from Halls

Total back: $15.00

Transaction #2

2 bags Doritos 2/$6
Filler bag $.29
Used: $3 RR
$1 RR
$1 RR

Total: $1.29 + $.03 tax = $1.32

$10.00 RR leftover for next week

I realize that most of you will not have 8 dove coupons right now and you are not starting with $16.00 in Register Rewards. BUT, I had to spend a little to make a little as always so I will continue "rolling" those as long as I can. I just wanted to illustrate an example of why you should buy more than 1 paper and how you can keep those RR's rolling. Remember you cannot pay for items of the same brand with a Register Reward of that brand and get another Register Reward back. For example you cannot buy another set of Dove shampoo's and use your register reward that you got for the first batch and get another $10 RR back. They have to be from different companies to get another RR to print.
Good Luck gals!! Amber

One more note, our Newport Walgreens is not always well stocked on these popular multiple item sales. If you go there and they don't have what you need I would suggest calling ahead to the Winchester Rd. Walgreens. They do an excellent job stocking and the manager is AMAZING!! If you have problems with the RR not printing out and it's the right deal he doesn't question it AT ALL. He takes your items, runs a fake transaction and gives you the RR

Head on over to www.southernsavers.com for more drugstore savings this week!

I HAVE 5 MORE DOVE $1 OFF COUPONS IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE THEM FOR THIS DEAL.

Toothbrush coupon news

Shawna left me a message last night telling me that her dentist gave her about 40 $2 off Colgate toothbrush coupons. With the Walgreen's Buy 2 at $3 each and get a $1 RR, we would be able to get 2 for $1. You will spend $2 out of pocket, but get back a $1 RR.

Shawna, if you are going to bread day I will get a few from you to stock up for the project. I got home late from the hospital and am in serious need of cleaning my house from top to bottom so I will only be on the computer to leave this note today.

If anyone else wants some please leave a comment on the blog and I can get you in touch with Shawna.

Rite Aid soap and toothpaste

Rite Aid on Hot Springs has a few tubes of Colgate Whitening "Oxygen Bubbles" toothpaste on their counters for 99 cents. They said they are not in the ad, just trying to get rid of them. I am just sitting down for a second to write this so I don't have time to check if there are Colgate Whitening coupons out, but there usually are. They also had the Ivory soap 3 packs on sale for $1. I am not sure if they are in the ad or if it was just that store and I grabbed the 3 that were left for the project we are doing. But, the reason I am writing this is because if anyone out there has time could you please call our Newport store and ask if they are selling either for these prices this week and if there are any left. That way more of you gals can pick them up for the Enrichment Project. If anyone finds out anything would you please post it or leave a comment. I would usually do it, but I really am in a rush to get dinner for the kids, get them off to baseball, drop them with hubby, get to the dentist myself for a night appt. and then out to the hospital to visit a friend. Thanks! Amber

Ralph's Gum Toothbrushes

Hi gals,

My friend Cory emailed me with this note:

Ralph's has GUM toothbrushes on sale for $1 each, so if you have any GUM coupons that can be doubled up to that dollar, that would make the brushes FREE. Remember that Ralphs will only double one Q per transaction though, so you may need to do more than one.

(Also, be sure and ask Ralph's about only doubling the first coupon. I had heard that and Desiree told me that wasn't how they did it. Maybe they have gone back to doubling more. I don't know, I haven't tried coupons under $1 there.)

Be sure and get on that by Tuesday night as that is when the weekly sales end. I don't have a flyer with me, but I am assuming that it will go back to regular price by Wednesday.

Amber

Hygiene kit items

Tansy asked me to post savings for the hygiene kit items. I haven't posted anything because I haven't see great deals on toothbrushes and toothpaste lately. By great I mean 50 cents or FREE. I will post what is out this week. They are definitely not the best deals we see in the coupon world, but I know that we need these things for the kits by November 10th so here are a few.

This one is at Walgreens. The RR is the Register Rewards that I have talked about on the site. They are a Walgreens store coupon that you get back when you purchase certain items. The red writing tells you where to find coupons for these items and some even have a printable link.
  • $1 RR wyb (2) Colgate Dental Care $3 ea
Total Advanced or Enamel Care Toothpaste
-$1 off Colgate Total Toothpaste, SS 10/11, 9/27, Sept or March All You or
    printable
-$1 off Colgate Enamel Care Toothpaste, SS 9/27

360° Deep Clean or Actiflex Toothbrush
-$1 off Colgate 360 Actiflex Toothbrush, SS 9/27 or Kroger My Magazine or
    printable
(buy 2, use 2 coupons makes it $1.50 ea)
  • $3 RR wyb (2) Oral B Cross Action Toothbrush $3 ea
-.75/1 or $1 off Oral B Pulsar, Cross Action, or Advantage Toothbrush, PG 10/11, 9/27
  • **Deal Idea**
    Buy: (2) Oral B $3 ea
    Use: (2) -$1 off coupons
    Total Due: $4
Get Back: $3 RR, makes it 50¢ ea
No deals on these items at Rite Aid this week.

And there is B1G1 at CVS, but we don't know the price of the first one. If anyone goes to CVS this week, please let us know the price of the first toothpaste.

Colgate Total 4.2oz., B1G1 (price not listed)
-$1 off Colgate Total SS 10/11 or
printable

My husband is very particular about his bar soap and always has to have Ivory. I know that the 3 packs usually go on sale at the drugstores for 99 cents and are usually around $1.29 so be on the lookout for that also.

Please be on the lookout for deals on these items:
  • 2 unbreakable combs (no sharp handles)
  • 4 toothbrushes (packaged)
  • 1 tube of toothpaste (6-8 oz., no pumps)
  • 2 bars of soap (approximately 4 to 5 oz.)
  • 2 hand towels (new towels, approximately 15" by 25". Please do not use dish towels or washcloths. To sew towels, serge or zigzag the edges of terry cloth to make a 15" by 25" towel.)
Please let us know if you find a great deal on any of these so we can stock up for the service project. I will check back next week to see if there are any better deals on toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Bulk coupon inserts

An anonymous reader posted a comment asking how do they buy bulk coupon inserts. Unfortunately the only answer I have is to buy multiple papers. I buy 4 papers almost every week. If there is a coupon that I specifically want 10 of I buy them on ebay and it is much more efficient money and time-wise than buying 10 papers. If anyone has any other suggestions they would be welcome :) I wish that we could buy our inserts without the paper because I hate wasting all those papers!

Apples, apples, apples

Go on over here to see what A Thrifty Mom did with all her free apples. Apples are $.47 a lb. at Ralphs this week. If you are a fruit canner this is the time to do it. They were $.49 a lb at Albertsons last week so I got about 35 lbs. I went and bought a canner and all the stuff I needed and canned pie filling yesterday. I also made cinnamon apples in the crock pot and put them in the freezer. Today I am going to do a few pans of dehydrated apples in the oven. Hopefully next week I can get some applesauce canned. I just canned for the first time by myself yesterday so hopefully the applesauce goes well. I will post my experience soon. If you are not a canner this is the perfect time to start!

Rite Aid Gift of Savings

Go over here to It's Hip2Save to read about Rite Aids Gift of Savings program. With all the baby items I am going to buy in the next 2 weeks I will spend about $15-$20 after coupons and qualifty for the spend $100 get $20 back certificate. I will post as I go so you get an idea of how it works.

September 23-more news about Gift of Savings

When you shop at Rite Aid between the dates of 9/13-10/17 you need to enter EVERY receipt into your SCR account. Even if you are not buying anything with a rebate. Your total spent goes into your Fall Gift of Savings Rebate account. You still enter in your receipts in your SCR account. BUT, to see where your Fall Gift of Savings total is click on the Fall Gift of Savings blue box on the left side of your screen. Then click on detailed status. This will show you the amount you have towards your rebate. When you spend $25-$50 you get $5 back, $51-$100 you get $10 back, over $100 you get $20 back!! And your total is before coupons!! Before coupons my total is $138.00 and I spent roughly $30 out of pocket to reach this mark. (I also had $20 Rite Aid Gift Card from a previous promotion.) I will get $20 back. Please ask if you have any questions regarding the rebate program.

Please note that most items that are on the rebate list are limit one offer per household. I was able to set up an account in my mom's name with her address and submit a second rebate for the diaper deal this week.

Newspaper inserts today

There are 5 inserts today. It's a great day to start your coupon stash if you haven't already. If you are interested in the Rite Aid baby products deal you will need 4 LA times to get the remaining Johnson and Johnson coupons you will need. I was only able to print 6 or 7 on the site that Jenny on Southern savers gave us. You normally can print 2 of each, but it was only allowing me to print 1 of each. You will need 10 Johnson and Johnson coupons to get all items for free after the Single Check Rebate. The Johnson and Johnson coupons were not in the Press Enterprise today. Higher value q's will always be in the LA Times. Make sure you check your papers before you buy them. One that I was going to buy was missing 3 inserts so I gave it to the checker. I am sure she thought I was crazy :)

Rite Aid 9/11-9/17

Jenny over at Southern Savers has put together the list for Rite Aid this week. There are a few fabulous things I am going to get for free or cheap. You can go here to see her ideas. She has also put together a printable shopping list which is wonderful!!
She also has tabs for Walgreens and CVS which have some good deals this week.

I am going to head over to Rite Aid first thing Monday morning so if you want to do the diaper deal and have not told me how many you want the manager to order for you, please email me or leave a comment on the blog.

Ta-Da!! Another link to get 2 more Huggies coupons.

I suggest printing one and backing out of the site completely and then going back in and printing another. I have found that if you hit your back button on this site and try and print another it accuses you of coupon print fraud and won't print your second one.

Huggies Diaper Deal coming to Rite Aid

Hi Gals,

IF YOU DECIDE TO DO THIS DEAL PLEASE READ THE VERY BOTTOM PARAGRAPH.

Print the Huggies Pure and Natural $3 coupon from here. You will have to scroll through until you find it. You should be able to print 2 from your computer. You will need 3 of them to get a great deal and 4 to get an even greater deal. If your husband can print 2 at work or if family can print them for you it will be worth it. If you have 2 computers at home it's even better! PLEASE WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT COPY THE COUPONS ON A COPIER. EACH COUPON HAS DIFFERENT NUMBERS ON THEM AND YOU COMPUTERS IP ADDRESS. IT IS COUPON FRAUD TO COPY THEM AND YOU WILL GET IN A LOT OF TROUBLE.

Jenny at Southern Savers is telling us that during the week of September 20th Huggies Pure and Natural Jumbo Packs are going to be $11 each. Pair that with your $3 coupons from coupons.com and a $2 Rite Aid Huggies coupon from here (you have to watch the Huggies video). You will also need 3-4 of the Rite Aid Huggies coupons depending on how many manufacturers coupons you are able to get. I watched the video and then when I printed my Rite Aid coupons I hit the button in the print screen to print multiples. (Again in the print screen change the amount you want to print to suit your needs. These coupons all have the same bar code on them so we can print multiples.)

In order to be eligible for the $10 rebate those of us in California need to purchase ours between 9/18 and 9/24. Other states please check www.riteaid.com and click on the Single Check Rebates tab.

Now, I know what you're thinking---THIS LOOKS LIKE A LOT OF WORK! This one is going to be some preparation and a little bit of time, but the best part is that we can get you 3-4 packs of Huggies for $1 each!! So this is what it will look like:

Jenny's idea was this:

**Deal Idea**
Buy: (3) Huggies Pure & Natural $11 ea
Use:
-$5 off $20 (must watch 20 video's to get this coupon, when you go to print make sure you print multiples from this screen. In your print screen where it asks how many you want to print just hit the up arrow)
(3) -$2 off Pure & Natural Rite Aid video values coupon
(3) -$3 off Pure & Natural
Total Due: $13
Get Back: $10 rebate, makes it $1 ea

(in order to do rebates at Rite aid you simply sign up through riteaid.com for their single check rebate program. Enter in your receipt when you get home and claim your rebates at the end of the month. THERE IS ONLY ONE REBATE PER HOUSEHOLD FOR THE DIAPER DEAL AND YOU MUST BUY 3 PACKS OF DIAPERS, but they can be on different receipts if you can't find them all at the same store)

My idea is this if you can scrounge up 4 manufacturer and 4 Rite Aid coupons:

(2) Huggies Pure and Natural $11 each
(1) $5 off $20 Rite Aid coupon
(2) $2 Rite Aid Huggies coupons
(2) $3 Huggies coupons

Total Due: $7

Repeat with the same transaction and pay $14 out of pocket and get back $10 in Single Check Rebate=$1 per pack of diapers.

NO, THIS IS NOT IN BOLD CAPITALS BECAUSE I AM YELLING AT YOU :) JUST WANTED YOU TO NOTICE IT BECAUSE IT'S IMPORTANT.

I TALKED TO THE MANAGER OF OUR NEWPORT RITE AID TODAY AND MADE HIM AWARE THAT THIS DEAL WAS COMING. HE IS THE NICEST MAN AND IS WILLING TO WORK WITH US. HE SAID THAT IF ANY OF YOU WANT TO DO THIS DEAL HE NEEDS TO KNOW WHAT SIZE DIAPERS YOU ARE GOING TO WANT AND HOW MANY. I HAD ALL MY KIDS WITH ME AND WASN'T THINKING STRAIGHT OR I WOULD HAVE ASKED HIM IF I COULD GIVE HIM A LIST OF NAMES AND HAVE HIM HOLD OURS IN THE BACK IF WE PROMISED TO COME FOR THEM BY TUESDAY. HOWEVER, WHAT I AM GOING TO DO IS GET A LIST OF YOU WHO WANT TO DO THIS DEAL AND HOW MANY YOU WANT AND TAKE IT TO HIM NEXT WEEK. I WILL THEN ASK HIM IF HE CAN HOLD THEM FOR US OR IF HE WILL HAVE TO PUT THEM ALL ON THE SHELF AND FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. THE ONLY THING IS THAT IF HE HOLDS THEM WE WILL ALL NEED TO MAKE SURE WE GO AND PICK THEM UP BECAUSE I REALLY WANT TO GET A GOOD RELATIONSHIP GOING WITH THIS STORE. IF THEY ARE WILLING TO HELP US WITH SPECIAL ORDERS I REALLY WANT TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEM SO THAT THEY SEE THAT WE ARE SERIOUS.

Please leave a comment on the blog with the size and number that you will want to get. I will be going at 7:45 a.m. on Monday September 21st if any of you want some helping doing the deal.

Snapfish Free Shipping

Snapfish is having free shipping when you enter the code FREELABOR in the promotion code box at the end of your order. If you have pictures to print I HIGHLY suggest doing this promotion. You have until September 13th. I have found that I like Snapfish prints better than any 1 hour store I have ever gone to. Including Wal-Mart, Costco, Sam's, Target, Walgreens, etc. Their prints are only 9 cents each and with free shipping you will really pay ONLY 9 cents. (Oh, and tax) I am ordering 177 prints and this would have cost $9.81 in shipping!! I always wait to order my prints until these free shipping promotions and I save a TON.

There are lots of deals to be had if you can match your coupons up this week. Head over to A Thrifty mom or It's hip 2 Save for a ton of great Target deals.

I am really excited about our Albertsons flier we got in our mailbox today. There are a few Albertsons coupons that can be matched up with manufacturers coupons we already have. And Oscar Meyer Wieners for $.49 each with Alb q + $1/2 MC. I am also interested to see if we can pair the Fun Pack Lunchables $1.49 Alb q with the Save $1 on any NEW lunchables combinations with water q. I will have to check the sizes listed on the q's and get back to you.

I haven't scoured the ad yet, but I am sure that Save At Home Mommy will have a full list available for us soon. Share your great deals if you find more.

Anyone in Menifee/Murrieta found the Glade 2-oz Soy Candles?

Murrieta/Menifee gals, has anyone found the 2-oz soy Glade candles that we have the free coupon for? (In the paper a few weeks back, expires October 3rd.) They look like this. A Thrifty mom found hers at Wal-Mart and I haven't looked there yet. It has been quite scary venturing into ours lately with the remodeling. I have searched Target, Rite-Aid and Walgreens. If anyone finds them at our Wal-Mart please leave a comment and let us know. If I make it there soon I will also take a look.

Old Navy Coupons are reset

www.oldnavyweekly.com has reset their coupons. You have to click around to find them. The really good ones are gone already, but if you start the movie in the bottom right hand corner and click around between 1:00 and 1:13 of playtime you will get the $5 off $25.00 coupon. Be patient, if it doesn't come up stop the movie, start it again and try again. Sometimes it takes a few times.

K-Mart Doubles and Albertsons Catalina

So sorry girls, this post is SO late!! My computer has been all virused out ALL week. We actually had to pay to get it fixed by McAfee tonight. Anyway, K-Mart is doubling your coupons up to $2. So your $2 coupons are worth $4.00!! As I have said many times, yes K-Mart is expensive, but many of the items that are usually about $2-$2.50 at other stores are around $4.00 at K-Mart, but with your $2 off coupon it is free. So go here. Patiently work your way through It's Hip to Saves K-Mart page and you will find MANY things that are FREE or CHEAPER than you will usually find them. (BY THE WAY OUR STORE DOES NOT HAVE THE MINI TRANSFORMER TOYS RIGHT NOW FOR THE DEAL SHE HAS LISTED. THEY ARE SOLD OUT. PRINT THOSE COUPONS OFF STILL JUST IN CASE THEY GET THEM IN BEFORE IT EXPIRES.) The K-Mart double coupon sale is a LOT of pre-work for me and I spent 2.5 hours in the store tonight shopping, calculating, and separating items into 3 transactions. I had 3 $5 off $50 K-Mart coupons. All this time and effort is VERY worth it. If you can go without children I highly recommend it. Also if there are people behind you make sure you let them go in between your transactions because our K-Mart never has many cashiers working.
I will post tomorrow, but my first transaction was $58.39 and I paid $11.83. Second transaction $67.89 and I paid $16.95. Third transaction was$54.58 and I paid $15.40.
So $180.86 for $44.18.
Will post more about this tomorrow when I have a little more time.
Regarding ALBERTSONS take a look at Save at Home Mommy. They are having a buy $20 worth of certain items and get a $5 Catalina and 50 bonus box top points. You can coupon down below the $20 and still get your Catalinas to print. I do only my deal items in one transaction in case they do not print, then it's easier to figure out what the problem was. If you buy $20 worth and coupon it down lower and your catalina does NOT print out, it should. Many cashiers will tell you it's because you couponed below $20, this is NOT true. I have done the deal this week. Paid only $17.00 after coupons and still got my catalinas.
Happy shopping, hope this helps and more on K-Mart tomorrow. Don't worry, if it's too late for you to prepare and go before the sale ends on Saturday, this doubles deal comes around every few months. This was my 3rd time since March.

As usual I had a WONDERFUL cashier at our Albertson's tonight and she asked where I get my coupons. I gave her our site, hello and thanks if you are visiting!! For all the complaining I do about other stores not knowing what they are doing with our coupons I have to praise our local Albertsons, they are always so courteous and kind and know what they are doing with our coupons. Never a bad experience there :)

$10 kids Jeans at Old Navy

Kids Jeans are $10 at Old Navy this week. If you have kids that are out of the T sizes and are in regular kid sizes you might have recognized that the prices jump a bit. When Ty was in the T sizes I used to be able to get Cherokee's at Target for $7.99. Now that he is in regular kids' sizes it's difficult to find them for less than $16 even at Target so to me the $10 seems like a great deal. Stock up so that your child will have a few pairs. Regular price is $19.50.

Free Air Wick I-Motion Kits at Rite-Aid

Hey gals,

I just got 5 Air-Wick I-Motion kits at Rite-Aid tonight. I had a few more items so I don't know the exact tax you will pay, but it will be a few pennies less than $2.71 total for all 5 if you have 5 papers from yesterday.

For the scenario go here.

Also, thanks to Ambrea for the Albertson's make-up tip. Got 4 Revlon mascara's for $4 total. They are $1.99 and I had $1 off Q's. I went on Saturday night and there were still a few sale items left on the shelf. Mostly mascara's.

Coupon Inserts this Sunday

Go here to read about the inserts for this week.

If we get the GM Smart Source insert it will be a great week to buy lots of papers. I haven't even got last week all cut and organized so I was hoping for a break :)

If we were to get that great GM insert it will most likely come in the LA times so make sure you check your paper before you decide how many and which one to grab.

Awesome Make-Up Sale Albertson's!

Hey girls!
I just happened to see at Albertson's (Antelope/Scott) today that they are having an awesome sale on mascara and lip gloss. They had all sorts of different kinds on sale....L'oreal, Covergirl, Maybelline...actually good kinds not the crappy ones. Ranging anywhere from $1.99-$4.79. Lots of them were right around $2.00!!! Now, unfortunately for me I didn't have any coupons :o( or it would have been way cheaper, but still it was an AWESOME deal!!! I bought a bunch just to try out, cuz it was so inexpensive.

Happy Shopping!

Luv,
Ambrea

Catalina Debate

The Catalina Debate continues. Some gals say that they have used their Catalina coupons towards the same deal that they got them for and more Catalina's will print. (At Albertsons) My friend Jamie told me today that she did a scenario like this earlier this week and another set DID NOT print out. So, I don't want to tell you gals that it will work if it sometimes does not. I am going to continue to NOT use Catalina's towards the same deals I get them for just to avoid hassle and confusion. So it is up to you how you want to go about using your Catalina's. If anyone has success in this situation at our Albertson's I would be happy to know about it.

Kellogg's Coupon Insert

I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner, but I have heard a lot of people that are not happy about the Kellogg's insert not being in their paper this last Sunday. If you would like some of those inserts head on over to ebay and pick some up from a coupon clipping service. With the small amount of $$ that you spend, you will save a ton more.

The LA Times did not carry the Beech Nut FREE jar of baby food coupon so I bought 20 tonight for $4.00. This means I will get 20 jars and after paying for the coupons will get 16 jars for FREE!!

Target this week

Target

Attention Menifee/Murrieta ladies. Because of the new Super Target opening I received coupon books with a $5 off $25.00 and a week later a $5 off $50.00 in them. Check your junk mail. Hopefully you got them too.

Before coupons: $55.14
After coupons: $34.39

On an end cap around the shaving section of the Newport target were these Schick Intuition kits for $9.99. Inside was an intuition razor, 4 replacement blades, a water bottle and a Target reusable grocery bag. An EXCELLENT deal I thought for the $9.99, but I had $4.00 off coupons for either a schick intuition razor or refill pack. I talked it over with my cashier because I was a little worried about this being ok ethically. We both read on it that you could use it for either a razor or refill and BOTH were in the kit. If anyone knows that this is not ok I would be interested to know it for future reference. I don't want to tell our readers that this is ok to do if it is not.

3 Schick Intuition Gift Packs-(3)$4.00 off Q (found in 2 past papers) $5.99 each
1 Jewelry Organizer $12.99 (for this)
1 Cinnabon Granola bar $1.75-$1.00 Q here $.75 each
Kotex on Sale $2.70-Target $2 Kotex Q 7/26 and $.75 MC Q 7/26 (remember you can stack Target and MC)=FREE
(Kotex Tampons at our store were $5.54 for 36 ct and there was a $1 Q in 7/26 so they would be $2.54 if you would rather get those.)
1 Boys Shirt $4.00
and subtract my $5.00 off $50.00

Total before coupons:$26.91
I paid: $2.85

3 Kotex manufacturer coupons and 3 Kotex Target coupons as described above
Ivory soap $1.02
1 Market Pantry Apples $3.99-$1 Target Q here
2 Popchips (Aisle 7 in our store, not on chip aisle) $2/$5-$1/2 Target Q found here and (2) $1 MC found here Remember you can stack these and it will be 2/$3
1 Cinnabon granola bars as described above
2 Irish Spring Body Washes ($3.04) coupon found here and stack with the Irish Spring Target Q 8/22 SS to make it $.04 each.
Fabric Softener sheets $.97 (If anyone sees a deal on Downy liquid please pass it along, I am desperate for a deal on it)
and subtract my $5.00 off $25.00 coupon

I had a great experience at our Target store finally. My cashier was awesome. Her register would not take the Target and Manufacturer coupon together and she told me, "I don't think we can take both because the register will not do it." I got out my Target coupon policy and showed her the line where it said this was ok and she said nicely, "Ok, well I will just enter it in if it won't do it itself." And, for the first time ever we didn't hold anyone up behind me, yay :)

You CAN use your Catalina's at Albertsons for the SAME promotion

If you read about my Albertsons trip yesterday I have been proven to be a HUGE LIAR. And, so glad because I am told that you CAN use your $15 catalina's you got for the SAME promotion and STILL get another $15 in Catalina's back!! Sorry to anyone who did the deal and did not try this!! I can still use the Catalina's for meat and produce and am not out anything so no big deal, but it's great to know for next time. If you know the rules for Walgreens you CANNOT do it this way so I just assumed all stores were the same since Catalina's all come from the same place. (At least I think they do.)

Albertsons 8/3

Albertsons Run 8/3

Before Sales, Club Card and Coupons the lot in these 2 pictures would have cost: $299.04
I paid $79.21 out of pocket
I got back $45.00 in Catalinas
So in true "couponers" math I paid just $34.21 for all of this.

For help go here and here. Thank you, thank you Save at Home Mommy!! Our Albertsons Saving Grace in So Cal!!

They are handing out Albertsons coupon books at our store with the shredded cheese coupon $1.29 each, limit 4, Kens marinades or BBQ sauce $.79 limit 4 (combine that with the coupons from yesterdays paper and get it free), Orange juice 2/$3 and much more.

I am late posting as we have been in Yuma and had people staying with us last night. The deal ends tomorrow night. Hurry, hurry!! If you got your papers yesterday like I suggested you will be able to get a lot of these items for cheap or FREE!! If you need any help please feel free to call me. The Kelloggs coupon page was ONLY in the LA times yesterday, not the Press Enterprise.

A TIP for those of you who are new to couponing and Catalina coupons. A Catalina is the coupon you will get when the ad says, Spend an amount and get an amount back. When you get the $15 back it comes out of a "catalina" coupon printer. You will get this round in 3 $5 coupons. It is ONE offer per TRANSACTION. I had 3 kids with me and don't have enough room in the cart for all of it. Plus, I have to separate transactions to make sure they are all $30 each to get my Cat's. I did 4 transactions and went to the car 3 times because I like to put only my $30 of items in the promotion on one tab. Two times I was at $29 and some change and had to grab one more item. If you are below the $30 your Catalina's WILL NOT PRINT. Another TIP, the $30 is AFTER your Albertsons card, but before your Manufacturers coupons. So for example my transactions were $30 and then I couponed down to $25.69, $28.23, and $22.54. Since I had spent $30 before MC's I got my $15 in Catalinas. VERY IMPORTANT: Do not use your $15 catalina for another transaction on the SAME promotion. Another catalina WILL NOT print out for items that it was earned for.

40 boxes of pop-tarts
19 jars of Ragu
(Expirations on PT-1 year from now)
(Expirations on Ragu-2 years from now)

No we don't eat pop-tarts every day, but when i go to buy them they are anywhere from $2.50-$3.50 a box. I got them for $.50 a box, but then used my Catalina coupons so they were FREE!! Now, I know what you are thinking "THAT'S A LOT OF SNACKS!" I have a storage closet under the pantry for excess food that we get for a great deal so all of this will last us a long time as we use snacks in moderation. Then I will use the rest of my Catalina's ($25.00 left for the week) for meat and produce.

For anyone in my area I did not even come close to clearing shelves. There is a LOT left.

8 boxes cereal
3 Bugles
4 Chex
2 Cake Mix
2 Frosting
2 Break and Bake Cookies
4 marinades
3 butter
1 egg (Free with $25 purchase)
4 shredded cheese
2 orange juice
4 cookie mix
2 Klondike 6 packs
2 Ben and Jerry's cups
2 Nutri grain bars
1 Cinnabon granola bar box
2 Bisquik

Great Hair Products At Walgreens

The got2b hair styling products are B1G1 at Walgreens this week. They are $5.99. Use 2 of these coupons found here and get them for $.50 each. These are fantastic products. I have used Paul Mitchell mousse for years and spent a fortune. On the last got2b sale I tried the fat-tastic mousse and found I prefer it. And I got it for free. You can't beat that!

Walgreens Trip

Before sales prices, coupons, and Register Rewards this would have cost:

$45.73

I paid: $16.37

Go here to put together your Walgreens savings for the week.

Note for Kleenex: The coupon in the Walgreens ad is limit 3, I had coupons for $.50/2. I had to do 4 separate transactions with the Kleenex. It was a pain, but well worth it because including tax, I paid $.72 a box. Scotch tape was the best deal this week $.39 a roll and I had 4 $1/3 coupons so I paid $.17 total for 3 rolls. Dawn soap $.49, paper plates $.50 each. You can find the dates for these coupons on the site I linked above.

Albertsons run

Hi gals, I haven't posted a grocery run for awhile so I thought I should.

Before my Albertsons card savings, coupons and rebates my total would have been:
$70.28

After all these savings I ended up paying $19.28.

6 BIG boxes of cereal
2 boxes Special K Bars
2 boxes Cinnabon Bars
2 Pillsbury Simply cookies
2 gallons of milk
40 jars baby food

Albertsons is running a Kellogs promotion this week. If you buy 5 items listed in their add they each drop down to $1.88. There were coupons in June for several Kellogs cereals and the Special K cereal bars. I am so sorry, but I am not sure which week had them. If you do have these coupons depending on how you use them you could get 10 boxes of cereal for free because there is also a rebate you can send in for $10 when you buy 10 Kelloggs items in the same purchase. That link is here. Thanks to Save at Home Mommy for that. I only had 6 cereal Q's and then I used one Special K coupon. To see the full list of what you can mix and match and the ENTIRE Albertsons savings list for Southern California go here. Make up your own savings regarding what you think you will use.

When you buy 2 packages of Pillsbury Simply cookies 2 for $5.00 (and use 2 of the coupons here), you will INSTANTLY get $1.00 off a gallon of milk. I did the 2 for $3.98 deal on milk so I paid $5.50 for 2 packs of the cookies and 2 gallons of milk.

They are also having a sale on Beech Nut baby foods. They are 10 for $4. A thrifty mom listed coupons last week. The $1 off 10 she has listed is no longer good, but the $2 off 20 worked for me. That post is here. I ended up getting 40 jars for $12.00.

How to store your stockpile

I thought I was crazy with the tiny stockpile I have, but I am finding that mine is pitiful compared to these. These people are crazy :) Good for them!

$.15 Notebooks at Wal-Mart

The 70 sheet spiral notebooks are on sale at Wal-Mart for 15 cents. Good for Cub/Boy Scout projects, Achievement Days, pre-school kids learning to write letters and for your kids to take to school. Glue sticks were under a sign that said 20 cents but they were 25. Crayola colored pencils $1 (these might go down to 50 cents, they did last year.)

Staples Sale

Staples Sale

Check your weekly ad or www.staples.com for the items that are on sale this week. They have 1 cent copy paper, 1 cent pencils (8 pack), $1 scotch tape, $1 4 x 6 photo paper, and $1 highlighters! Be careful, in order to get these prices there are limits per household and rebates that you must send in. I spent $35.00 and will get about $30 back in rebates!
$.99 Electrasol Dishwasher Tabs or Gel Pacs

I hope you gals got a few papers yesterday. Certain boxes of Electrasol Tabs and Gelpacs are on sale at Target for $3.49 each. There was a $2.50 coupon in Smart Source yesterday. It was only in the LA times paper Smart Source though, not the Press Enterprise. I am finding that the really good ones don't often make it to the press. They still have the Smart Source, but sometimes not the really high saving coupons. Anyway, the Newport Target was pretty wiped out when I got there. I mixed and matched and was able to get 5 for $6.48. They did have a few boxes left of the tabs and a few of the gelpacs. If you have these coupons, I would try the new Target or go bright and early after they have stocked and night and see if they have more.

**I just had a thought...I bet if you take your Target ad to Wal-Mart they will price match for you** This will be a hot item this week at Target so if you don't need anything else there I bet Wal-Mart is stocked with this item.

The Pioneer Woman

I found this site tonight with recipes on it. Haven't explored it much, but my though was, "um, I can barely find time to pull my ratty hair into a ponytail every weekday morning. Where does this woman find the time to do anything on this blog??"

Welcome Ephrata Readers

I spoke to the ladies of my parent's church ward tonight and their Enrichment meeting about couponing. They had asked me to speak for 15 minutes and I didn't want to overwhelm them. It turned out that they seem to be really interested and asked a lot of great questions. It was so fun to talk to a group that really wants to start couponing. A lot of times I feel the empty stares and get the "you're crazy" look. I gave them our blog address and want to welcome them!!
For those of you who attended the meeting tonight I realized that I forgot to mention a very important thing. I thought it would be ok to put it on our blog because it is a good reminder to our other readers. In order to stockpile you are going to need several Sunday papers (or in the case of the gals tonight their Saturday paper, that's right they get all of their inserts on Saturday, so LUCKY!). You can either buy them at the newsstand or have them delivered. Some of the gals in Idaho and Utah order 4-6 Sunday papers to be delivered and get a significant price break. (They pay as little as 60 cents for each paper.) They work it out with their local papers. http://www.athriftymom.com/ is a great example of how to do this. If you look on the right hand side of her blog I believe she has a section that talks about how she does this. I have tried to do this in California and my paper will not do this. They tell me that I have to pay full price for each subscription ordered. For those of you that I talked to tonight it might be worth it just to try it with The Wenatchee World and see if they will work out a deal with you. I would suggest couponing for a few weeks first in order to see if it is for you and then maybe do the multiple paper thing. Even if you end up paying full price for 4-6 papers weekly it is worth it because you save so much money with the coupons that you get. You will pay for that weeks worth of papers in your first transaction of the week with what you end up saving. Also VERY IMPORTANT, there are no inserts on the big weekend holidays. I know that Memorial Weekend we did not ge any. I am not sure how many weekends we don't get them, but if you go to http://www.southernsavers.com/ and click on her inserts tab she tells you what inserts to expect in your weekend paper. That is an excellent source to check before you buy your papers. This way you will know what you are looking for and if it is a weekend without inserts you won't want to go buy a bunch of papers.
Anyway, I just wanted to mention all of this to those of you who were there tonight because it's a very important part of building your stockpile. Happy Shopping-Amber
Walgreens Trip Today
(this is a repost from April for new readers to learn the rules for using Register Rewards at Walgreens)

Total before coupons = $73.00

Total after coupons = $17.26

Register Rewards for next week=$5.00

This is an EXCELLENT week at Walgreens for anyone who is getting started. I had $5 RR going into it. I was a little disappointed because my game plan was messed up from the start. They didn't have any of the Ecotrin pain reliever left. This was a $2 money maker. I actually got it from another Walgreens on the way home. If you are starting out without any RR's I would suggest a first transaction of the Nivea Body Wash. You will pay $4.99+tax oop to get you started, but you will get a $5 RR and then you can start rolling them. What that means is that you can buy other items that produce and RR with the $5 RR you get from the Body Wash.

VERY IMPORTANT LESSONS I HAVE LEARNED FROM OTHER BLOGGERS :
Most Walgreens cashier's do not know these things.

1. If you buy an item and use a Manufacturer's coupon for an item that is advertised to produce an RR, the RR for the item SHOULD still print out.

2. If you pay for an item that is supposed to print an RR with an RR from a DIFFERENT item another RR SHOULD still print out. So for example. I used my Nivea Body Wash RR to pay for my Schick Intuition Razor and my $3 RR for the razor still printed out. (Cashier's will try and tell you it won't work. They think this because if you try and use your RR for your Nivea to purchase another Nivea the RR will not print out. If you keep track of what your RR was from and use it for a different product, it should work. If I am saving it for another week I usually write on them what they were for.) I know this is all VERY confusing if you have not shopped at Walgreens, however once you start playing with it you will get the idea. It takes a few times and a few mistakes, but it comes with time. You can always ask me questions.

3. Another VERY important thing to note is that the RR is considered a Manufacturer's coupon. So if you have a Manufacturer's coupon for each item that you are buying and some RR's you must have 1 item per 1 coupon. So if you don't have the right ratio the register will beep because you have too many coupons. You need to use what is called a "filler" item. This is just a cheap item to count as your 1/1 ration with your RR's. Some of the ladies blogs that I read say to get a small candy item such as $.05 caramels. I cannot find anything that cheap at ours. My kids like the cheese and cracker snacks that they have for $1 and I like gummi bears so that is what I chose today.

4. One lady whose blog I read said to use your RR coupons first. They are the highest and you want to use the most $$ amount first. Then use your Manufacturer's coupons from there. Once you get into the tax the coupons will beep because you HAVE to pay the tax.

I REALLY hope you can understand what I have tried to explain. It is SO confusing if you have not played around with the coupons and RR's at Walgreens.

Walgreen's Deals - A Thrifty mom found here and Southern Savers found here. I personally love the "working Walgreens" section at the bottom of Southern Savers. Thank you to those gals for getting such amazing lists every week.

My favorite deal of this week was the Campbell's Soup. There was a coupon in the Walgreen's ad for $.59 each (limit 6) and a printable. You could only print 2 Campbell's coupons from each computer, but that made each can $.09 each.
